What is Free Comic Book Day?
Just as the name suggests, Free Comic Book Day is a once-a-year event where comic book publishers create a free comic book for local comic shops (LCS) to giveaway. Started in 2002, this event has grown in popularity. Many LCS will make it a major event for their store by having sales, cosplayers, guests, charity drives, and more. This year, Free Comic Book Day will take place on Saturday, August 14th (2021).
Because the last year and a half has been hard for LCS, we at The Captioned Life want to help promote this day and local comic shops to help support their business and to continue giving us what we love - comics!
Raffle for $50 at your local comic shop!
Just as we mentioned, we want to support our LCS and we want you to do the same. So The Captioned Life will be hosting a raffle on our Twitter and Instagram account. It's very simple - you simply need to like the post and follow us on social media (you do not need to do both social media platforms to be entered into the raffle; but if you do both Twitter and Instagram, you can get entered more than once!).
